AOCS AOCS–A Century of Service to the Fats and Oils Industry Recognizing the need to standardize the methodology and foster new techniques, nine analytical chemists founded the American Oil Chemists' Society (AOCS) in 1909. The AOCS mission is to be a global forum to promote the exchange of ideas, information, and experience, to enhance personal excellence, and to provide high standards of quality among those with a professional interest in the science and technology of fats, oil, surfactants, and related materials. The 103rd AOCS Annual Meeting & Expo will continue the traditions developed in the society's first century and will be the launching point for new initiatives and technologies.
