Abstracts for oral presentations are no longer being accepted. However, a limited number of poster presentations may still be available.

Guidelines
- Submit 200-word abstract, prepared in English
- No tables or figures may be included
- Indicate topic area (see topics below)
- Indicate preference for oral or poster presentation
- Submit complete names of all authors/presenters
- Submit company/institutions for each author/presenter

The Forum on Emerging Technologies – What’s on the Horizon?
The Forum on Emerging Technologies – five informative sessions that expand beyond the science to address how these critical issues impact the business of fats and oils:
- Sustainability (including green technology, life cycle, energy issues)
- Biobased Products (including alternatives and processing issues)
- Functional Lipids (including structure, application, fundamentals, Omega-3s, and health/nutrition implications)
- Communication and Computer Technology in the Workplace (including how fats and oils industries are utilizing new technologies and social media to their advantage, what challenges are being faced)
- Analytical Horizons (including what’s ahead, what’s important, what’s needed)
Abstract submissions to complement The Forum sessions are encouraged.
Review
Abstracts will be sent to session organizers for review and consideration. Every effort will be made to meet volunteer presentation requests but due to a limited number of session time slots, the organizers may elect to change oral submissions to poster presentations. Each submission will be evaluated separately using the criteria outlined below:
- Relevance and timeliness to session topic
- Creativity and originality of content
- Tangible message, solutions, best practice
- Abstract and presentation are free of commercial bias *
* Presentations must not be commercial in nature and refrain from overuse of product trade names and company affiliations unless submitted by an exhibiting company for the special Exhibitor Sessions.

Dates to Remember
January 9, 2012: Deadline has passed.
March 1, 2012: Deadline for poster presenters to register in order to be included in the program.
April 2012: Abstracts available online

Registration Fees and Travel Expenses
All presenters are expected to pay the registration fee to attend the meeting. Each presenter will be responsible for his/her travel and accommodation expenses.
Poster presenters must register by March 1, 2012 to be included in the program.
