Division and Section Events

Build connections, reunite with friends, get more involved with AOCS, and have fun! Attend these events as part of the annual meeting to learn more about the plans for the upcoming year, welcome the new leadership team, and celebrate award winners. All annual meeting attendees are welcome to attend these events. Please note: Registration and additional fees may be required. 

Analytical Division Luncheon

Monday, May 1 | 1 p.m. 

The 2023 Herbert J. Dutton Award winner will be recognized and will give a short presentation during this event. The Herbert J. Dutton Award of the AOCS Analytical Division recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to the analysis of fats, oils, and related products.

Biotechnology Division Dinner

Tuesday, May 2 | 6 p.m. 

The 2023 Biotechnology Division Ching Hou Award winner and student winners will be recognized and will give a short presentation during this evening networking event.

Canadian Section Luncheon

Monday, May 1 | 1 p.m. 

Join us to celebrate student award winners.

Edible Applications Technology Division Dinner

Monday, May 1 | 6 p.m. 

The 2023 Timothy L. Mounts Award winner and the EAT Division Student Excellence Award winner will be celebrated and give a short presentation at this event.

Health and Nutrition Division Dinner

Tuesday, May 2 | 6 p.m. 

The 2023 winner of the Ralph Holman Lifetime Achievement Award, an award that celebrates major advances in health and nutrition, will be recognized and give a short presentation during dinner.

Industrial Oil Products Division Luncheon

Tuesday, May 2 | 1 p.m. 

The Industrial Oil Products Division will recognize the winner of the IOP Student Award and connect with colleagues and friends over lunch.

Lipid Oxidation and Quality Division Networking Reception and Dinner

Monday, May 1 | 6 p.m. 

The 2023 Edwin N. Frankel Award for Best Paper in Lipid Oxidation and Quality winner will be recognized and will give a short presentation at this event. Come learn about the division’s new mentorship program while you enjoy great conversation, drinks, and food.

Phospholipid Division Dinner

Monday, May 1 | 6 p.m. 

The 2023 Phospholipid Division Best Paper winner will be recognized and will give a short presentation.

Processing Division Happy Hour

Monday, May 1 | 6 p.m.

Protein and Co-Products Division Dinner

Monday, May 1 | 6 p.m. 

The 2023 Protein and Co-Products Division Lifetime Achievement Award winner will present their lecture during this event. The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes significant contributions to the advancement of protein and co-products through research and applications.

Student Common Interest Group Networking Reception

Join this evening reception to get to know other students in a relaxed and fun environment. Connect with fellow attendees to discuss trends, overcome challenges, and share your knowledge and insights.
